The Greatest Commandment

Discerning the Greatest Commandment.

"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength. This is the first commandment." - Mark 12:30

+++

As the Greatest Commandment given to us by God, should this not be most important to us?

How do we obey this Commandment of love, how do we express this love to God?

Is showing reverence and humility by kneeling for Holy Communion too much to ask for?

Is attending and kneeling for Eucharistic Adoration too much to ask for?

Is this not the most simple yet ultimate expression of love fitting for God?

If not for God, for who?

When reverence is lacking, there is no humility. When there is no humility, there is no holiness. When there is no holiness, there is no love for God.

Why would we not kneel for Holy Communion, not attend and kneel for Eucharistic Adoration?

Should we not keep the Greatest Commandment closest to our heart, soul, mind, and strength?

Reverence and Humility

What can we learn from reverence and how it is an expression of love to God.

Very Little Reverence, Very Little Humility

“If you want to be holy, be humble; if you want to be holier, be more humble; if you want to be very holy, be very humble.” - St. Joseph Calasanz
